FHS Band to Texas State Marching Championship

Congratulations to the Frenship High School Tiger Band on earning a berth in the 2011 Texas State Marching Contest.  The TSMC will be held on Tuesday, November 8th, in the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Tiger Band qualified for the contest on Saturday in competitions at the Area A Contest held at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.  There were 23 other bands from west Texas, the panhandle, far west Texas, central Texas and the metroplex.  Four bands were selected after two rounds of performances. The first round (preliminaries) narrowed the field down to the top ten bands for the second round finals).  Bands representing Area A at the TSMC are Frenship, Boswell, Azle and El Paso Del Valle High Schools.  Other bands marching in the finals at Odessa were Keller Timber Creek, Denton Ryan, Canyon, Springtown, Plainview, and Randall High Schools.
