Summer Band Extravaganza

On July 31^st the FHS Tiger Band will kick off the 2010-2011 year with the 2010 FHS Summer Band Extravaganza.  This event is a must-attend event for all band students and parents.  The Extravaganza is a busy, fun-filled night when everyone gets together and does all of the things that are necessary, but annoy us, like:

• fill out/turn in all of the paperwork required for Tiger Band and Frenship Band Boosters, and
• purchase all of our gear for the upcoming year.

But it is also filled with all kinds of totally unnecessary things - but we love:

• friends,
• blackjack,
• Texas Hold 'Em,
• laser tag,
• video games,
• food,
• candy,
• drinks, and, of course,
• the "midnight" march-off, where all but one prove how rusty our marching chops are.

What more could you ask for on a West Texas Saturday night? 

Be sure to download all of the forms and fill them out ahead of time.  If you bring everything with you, already filled out, it will save a lot more time for the fun stuff!!

Times and Other Important Details

We are asking each band member bring refreshments for the Extravaganza. Please refer to the list below for your class's meeting time and refreshments to bring.

• Freshmen
  • The Freshmen Meeting is at 4:00 PM
  • Freshmen girls - 2 six-packs of soft drinks
  • Freshmen boys - 2 six-packs of bottled water
• Sophomores
  • The Sophomore Meeting is at 5:00 PM
  • Sophomore girls - 1 container of dip; 1 package of snack crackers
  • Sophomore boys - Large pack of individual packets of chips, etc.
• Juniors
  • The Junior Meeting is at 5:45 PM
  • Juniors (all) - Cookies, brownies, fudge, Rice Krispies treats, etc
• Seniors
  • The Senior Meeting is at 6:30 PM
  • Seniors (all) - Bags of individually-wrapped candy, suckers, chocolate, etc.
• EVERYONE
  • It takes a tremendous amount of water to keep 300 band students hydrated during marching season. Please bring 2 cases of bottled water.

Once again, please make sure you download all of the forms and come prepared to have a good time!  Also, if you have not yet downloaded your show music, please make sure you grab that as well.
