Congratulations to three talented Frenship High School Band members on earning chairs in the 2012 Texas All-State Band. They won these chairs in the Area A competition held this past Saturday at ACU in Abilene and will perform with the Texas All-State Band on Saturday, February 11th at Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio. Frenship High School students competed with others from the Panhandle, South Plains, central Texas, as well as schools from the metroplex such as Grapevine, Lewisville, Flower Mound and Frisco.
Sarahlinna Guerrero, a senior flute player in the band, earned her second All-State honor position. She was also All-State in 2011.
Omar Haney, a senior alto sax player in the band, earned his second All-State honor position. He was also All-State in 2010.
Hil Kamau, a junior trumpet player in the band, earned his first All-State honor position.
Two other Frenship High School Band members are 1st alternates for the Texas All-State Band.
Matthew Howard, a senior alto sax player was 1st alternate. He was also an All-State member in 2011.
Elizabeth Reyna, a senior contra bass clarinet player was 1st alternate.
